Nezha Benabdallah
Group Leader
Nezha holds a Chancellor's Fellowship at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, University of Edinburgh. As a chromatin biologist, her aim is to advance the understanding of epigenetic cancer initiation and develop biology-informed therapeutic strategies.
Before establishing her group in Edinburgh, Nezha worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) and at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. Nezha holds an Engineering Degree from AgroParisTech and a Master's in Genetics from University of Paris VII. She received her PhD from the University of Edinburgh, UK.

Libby Wray
Research Assistant
Libby's project focuses on understanding the mechanisms of gene fusions driving small blue round cell sarcomas (SBRCS or Ewing-like). Using novel models developed in the laboratory, her work will contribute to a better understanding of the biology behind these tumours.
Libby did her undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol. After completing a MScR by Research in Cellular and Molecular Medicine in Bristol, she has been working as a Research Assistant in the Chromatin Regulators and Cancer team since May 2024. Her position is supported by the IGC Langmuir Talent Development Fellowship

Lucia Puchades Gimeno
PhD student
Lucia's project focuses on investigating gene fusions associated with endometrial stromal sarcomas and how they contribute to different tumour grade.
Lucia did her undergraduate degree in Molecular Genetics at the University of Dundee and has joined the lab with a MRC DTP studentship.
